We need an award to be presented to a plain-language professional at an awards ceremony. The final product will be a physical object that you can hold in your hands.
We need you to design something that is sophisticated and simple.
We have a tight deadline and so the final design must not be too complex otherwise it will take too long to manufacture.
Key themes in plain language are: Clarity, Simplicity, Transparency, Good use of language. The award should reflect that.
The trophy/award must have written on it:
The Christine Mowat Plain Language Achievement Award
There must also be some space for the winner's name to be engraved.
>Dimensions - We would like the award to be about 17 x 12 cm. Should be comfortable to hold and look good on the mantelpiece.
>Materials - We are open to suggestions. But we probably would prefer something in glass, crystal, metal, wood, perspex.
>Specifications for modeling - We will need to choose some draft drawings but the final designs need to be in a format the manufacturer can work from.
