My product name is Micro-Biz Disaster Plan.
I assist web-dependent micro-businesses in developing disaster recovery plans.
My product tagline is:
A proven system for risk mitigation, disaster recovery , and a good night's sleep.
As a Small Business Disaster Recovery Expert, I assist web-dependent micro-businesses in developing disaster recovery plans which are customized for their business. I use the Micro-Biz Disaster Plan product (forms, templates, and documentation) which I developed to meet the unique needs of the web-dependent small business.
Larger businesses, including multi-national enterprises, usually hire a consultant to lead a team of employees representing all the functional areas to develop Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity Plans (DRP/BCP) for the business. The process can take months/years to complete and involves employee training and ongoing testing and maintenance. Some large businesses purchase DRP/BCP templates and assign in-house employees to develop their plans. In addition, these businesses must frequently comply with government regulations which mandate what needs to be in the plans.
Small businesses also need a DRP/BCP, but they don’t have the same options as the large companies. Consultants specialize in the larger businesses with the larger budgets and staffs. The available templates require expertise the solopreneur doesn’t have the interest or time to acquire. Small web-dependent businesses also don’t have the same “needs” or characteristics so the available templates just don’t “fit.” I’ve also attached a chart which lists the characteristics of the businesses in my target market and how they differ from larger “traditional” businesses.
I want a dragon "mascot" created for my business and a chart created using this dragon in a variety of scenarios. I’ve “attached” an example chart which illustrates what I have in mind. The various dragons represent threats which face businesses (natural disasters, cyber crime, user errors, power outages, etc.) The intention of this chart is to communicate the many vulnerabilities (threats) businesses face, but I want the viewer to feel the threats can be handled.
The dragons in the chart are mostly coloring book clipart. I’d like my dragon to be most like the “User Error” dragon with the tail and wings of the “Lost Password” and “Loss of Internet Access” dragon. I want "my dragon" in each scenario on this chart. For example, sitting in water for the “Flood”; holding a plug for “Loss of Power”; with a splotchy rash for “Virus”; blowing air for “Tornado”, looking puzzled for “Loss Password” and sheepish for “User Error” ; etc. The dragon should add some whimsy to a serious subject, without being childish or silly. I'll also use it in marketing and training materials and perhaps at the end of my tagline (sleeping).
I also want to have an ongoing relationship with the artist to develop different poses/situations as they arise…
I have two target audiences:
1. The business owners who will be investing thousands of dollars to safeguard their business
2. Micro-biz disaster planning specialists who will become certified and assist the business owners develop their own customized Micro-Biz Disaster Plan
Both audiences are small business owners; probably 35+ in age.
