How will maack started their other graphic design journey
Road Rates Website
Road Rates is an auto insurance website that serves a resource for web surfers looking for online quotes or information about auto insurance in their state or country (http://www.roadrates.com). We are seeking a design graphic that will replace the current header and menu on the website. From the new graphic direction, we will build the website around that concept and color scheme. (Note: The current site http://www.Roadrates.com is dark. We are changing this design to something much lighter. A background image of a car will be used as the background to the website. The image will be something open and airy with a blue sky most likely.) The header needs to be 960 pixels wide. We are open to the height of the header. Within the header we need a spot for advertising that fits a 720x90 leaderboard. This leaderboard will fit to the right of the banner area.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
At the top of the banner/header we want some small buttons built for the following menu options:
About, Contact Us, Let’s Connect: Twitter, Facebook, RSS, Search Box (I like the way this site has the buttons laid out at the top: http://www.freshome.com . I like the idea of having icons next to the menu option there. (that site also shows a good picture of how a leaderboard will fit into the banner/header area).
I want four buttons at the bottom of the banner that are very bold and good size. They should say:
Resource Guide Home; Free Instant Quote (I do like how bold the yellow button is on http://www.roadrates.com ), United States Drivers, Non-U.S. Drivers
(Everyone and anyone looking for car insurance. However I do want to appear very professional as this is a costly product and our website must instill confidence in our service.)
The logo will need to be fit into that space since the leaderboard is also in the header/banner area.
The theme should be professional as you might expect from an insurance related business.. We are open for various designs but do not want anything that fits the cartoon, thrown together, or childish look. We are open to various font styles but nothing to traditional, puffy, curly, or old style, rather clean, modern-ish, up to date, and easy to read.
We will require the photoshop or illustrator files when the contest is completed.
I have also attached files to this contest with the logo files and the background image.
