CaciqueTaino got their new other business or advertising by running a design contest:
**Guaranteed** Innovative Resume Design Needed!
Check out CaciqueTaino's Other business or advertising contest…
I am not an organization, but an individual looking to update my resume for consumption via modern methods such as computer screens versus paper. I'll take the summary section of my resume to describe what I do. "Strategic and proactive Information Security Executive specializing in balancing business needs with the risks and costs of controls. Over fifteen years of experience in developing information security strategies in technically demanding global environments. Act as a change agent, with a history of building and enforcing comprehensive security and compliance programs that exceed business needs with minimal overhead costs. Leverage strategic relationships and influence of colleagues to define, implement and enforce standards development"
What's your vision?
I'll start by mentioning that the reason I heard of 99 designs was via an article I read by Joshua Waldman titled "How to Quickly and Cheaply Re-Design Your Resume so it Looks Amazing" (http://careerenlightenment.com/how-to-quickly-and-cheaply-re-design-your-resume-so-it-looks-amazing) that discussed what Smashing Magazine did with a fictional web designer named Steve Stevenson. As someone who also hires people, I completely agree with the observation that almost no one reviews paper based resumes anymore. I would like to replicate the same process used here with my own resume. I am not in graphics design so I am not looking for some of the graphical elements that would be appropriate for a designers resume. What I'm looking for is a professional resume that does have that "pop" effect making it memorable. I would like to use the resume for LinkedIn as well as to submit it to prospective employers. I saved the links of the top 10 best looking resumes for the Smashing Magazine project and am linking them here. The main points here is that this is aimed at a corporate work environment type position at an executive level but I'm willing to explore some creative opportunities as outlined below. I wouldn't consider myself artistically gifted but compensate with detailed feedback in any dialogue to get this project done to our mutual satisfaction. I don't need this to be searchable text as the most likely conduit will be LinkedIn but there will be instances I'll have to email it directly. For privacy reason I will keep my contact details private as this will be in a public forum to begin with and we can work out those details towards the end. I'm hoping that the final design will work with and without a small photo of myself in the event the use of the photo may not be appropriate. Examples below are also attached as PDFs Simple and clean Design (I consider this one the "safe" one): http://media.smashingmagazine.com/images/design-cv-resume/ali_felski.pdf Simple and clean but uses a little more color which I think works: http://media.smashingmagazine.com/images/design-cv-resume/chris_spooner.pdf This one really interests me because it's pretty in your face with the color choice but really works and still stands out in my mind days after seeing it. I don't know what this would look like if it printed but I like the concept here. http://media.smashingmagazine.com/images/design-cv-resume/sarah_parmenter.pdf Another interesting choice but the paint blotting effect doesn't work for corporate but I like the aesthetic of the design. With a substitute for the pain blotting this could work for me. http://media.smashingmagazine.com/images/design-cv-resume/luc_pestille.pdf I really really like the concept of this resume. No idea if this would work in a corporate setting but I'm a fan of the entire resume especially the structure. http://media.smashingmagazine.com/images/design-cv-resume/albert_lo.pdf I'm including a confidential version of my resume to be used for the primary data input.
This project is a priority for me so I will make every effort to communicate as efficiently and quickly as I can if any feedback is required on my part. I'm mostly looking for designers to bring their creative talents to this project within the parameters I describe in what I want designed.
