andrew.blades got their new other business or advertising by running a design contest:
Century-old mining company (RockAsphalt) needs an "industrial-grade" booth design

We sell a unique asphalt patch that city governments use to repair potholes and other street damage. A very detailed explanation of our product can be found on our website: rockasphalt.com. Broadly speaking, the general aesthetic of the website is also something we'd like to see evoked in the trade show booth design.
What's your vision?
We'd like a 10ft trade show booth designed. (The exact booth we own as well as the graphic templates for the booth can be found here: https://www.displayoverstock.com/portable-tru-fit-max-straight-trade-show-display/) There are 4 different pieces to the booth: 1) a backdrop, 2) a small header graphic that sits on top of the backdrop, 3) a TV stand graphic, and 4) a podium graphic. The templates for these pieces can be found on the website above and will also be attached to this contest. As far as the aesthetic, we've attached a pdf of our marketing flyer to provide a general sense of our brand. Our website (rockasphalt.com) also shares the brand vision we'd like to see reflected in the booth design. But to better understand our stylistic vision for the booth it might also be useful to briefly research the brands that inspired our own: Craftsman.com, Proto tools post-rebrand (best seen here: https://www.prioritydesigns.com/work/item/tool-brand-development-and-visual-brand-language/), and this product page: https://dribbble.com/shots/2188350-Milwaukee-Product-Page-Full/attachments/403997 You'll notice in all of the above a combination of "heavy industrial" elements, a simple color pallet comprised of 1 accent red and greyscale greys and blacks, a well-chosen typeface, and simple messaging all work together to create a coherent brand. While words like "rugged" and "tough" might describe our desired style, a sense of professionalism and "industrial quality" must also. We've been mining our asphalt in south Texas since 1895 so we're not interested in gimmicks that compromise the integrity of our company's image. To make this easier, we've attached the color pallet, logos, and font we'd like to be used. We also have a simple brand guide that can be found on our website here: https://rockasphalt.com/brand-guide/. Briefly, the colors are: -PMS 200 or #bb0000 -Plus a general neutral greyscale: #222222, #444444, #666666 or the like The red logo is our default logo but the black can be used to support it. The font is Tungsten and comes in a variety of weights that we can't attach but can be requested. If words and messaging are used, they should be very simple. The phrase "Industrial-Grade Pavement Patch" is our preferred main message. Others can be requested or found on our website. If images are desired, they can be downloaded from our website or requested. High quality stock photos that we use in other marketing pieces can be downloaded from our brand guide page here: https://rockasphalt.com/brand-guide/ Vector files are also available as are PSD's of the flyer, etc. Just ask! This contest will be carefully monitored so any additional questions are welcomed! We're here to answer so ask away. We also have additional files types and colors available if desired. Thanks for your time and good luck!
