Dogwise Publishing was established in 2001 as a subsidiary of Direct Book Service Inc. and Dogwise.com to produce and market high quality books on dogs. Dogwise is committed to publishing books that improve upon the information currently available, use humane training methods, cutting edge science and proven solutions to make living with a dog more fun and enjoyable. The audience for our published titles include dog owners, trainers, breeders, dog sports competitors, veterinarians, shelters, and dog-related professionals. Over the years Dog Writers Association of America, DWAA, has selected several of our books for their highest honor, the Maxwell Award, and book industry insiders recognize that Dogwise Publishing titles give readers well-written, sound educational information on dogs. Dogwise Publishing books are sold through online retailing, brick and mortar retailers including pet supply stores and bookstores, mail order companies and book industry wholesalers. What's your vision?
Dogwise Publishing Catalog Cover The full color 28 page publishing catalog includes photo images of the book/DVD covers and brief descriptions of the book/DVD. It is the single most important print marketing tool for the company. The catalog is distributed to the Dogwise Publishing customer (see description above) and needs to communicate professionalism as well as the fun, warmth and companionship shared by people and dogs. A front cover to our publishing catalog and design element that can be carried through to the interior pages. Must provide editable InDesign files The size of the book is 8.5"W x 11"L The cover must include: Dogwise logo - Provided in images below. Logo can be located anywhere. Logo can be in black or white or any complimentary color to the background color. The outline band of the logo can be highlighted in color (see example on 2014-2015 catalog) 2015-2016 Catalog - This can be located anywhere The following three pieces of information should be located in the lower section (footer) of the cover - 403 South Mission Street. Wenatchee WA 98801 1-800-776-2665 www.dogwise.com Designer should select colors compatible with the image selected. Each year our catalogs have a different color. The cover colors for the past five years have black, purple and green, blue, and yellow. See attachments for the colors of our last five catalogs. Do not duplicate these colors. If using distinct header and footer bands they can have any design element (i.e. an irregular shape, transparent effect, etc) The center piece of the catalog cover can feature up to 3 of our books with descriptions (images and text provided below). We will consider designs that do not include book covers and description but rather has a compelling dog related image or dog related graphic.
We have a branded book cover design that we have used on close to 100 Dogwise Publishing titles and on previous catalogs. Designers should refer to the sample catalog provided but we are looking for a fresh take on our usual format. The selected design will blend well with our branded look. (See samples) We want to carry the cover design or elements of the design into the interior design. Give us an example of how you would do that. Designers who submit examples of cover design elements for interior pages will be preferred.
