Marola was truly wonderful to work with. From Marola's first draft on my project, I felt instantly connected to their style, feeling Marola truly understood the essence and aesthetic of my work (contemporary dance). All communication with Marola was fast and positive. I was never made to feel like my many detailed requests were too many. The only challenge I had in the process was Marola's repeated spelling errors. Triple check all spelling! Because of this, the process was delayed a bit because each time I reviewed the drafts, my eye would catch a new typo. This is the only reason I rated this designer a 4 and not a 5. Regardless, I would happily work with Marola again!

The cover is for the "Building Number on RekenMathLine" Workbook for K-1 math learners. RekenMathLine is part of MathLine which is a series of hands on tools, support workbooks, teacher guides, digital tools, and an on-line platform to help students learn K-4 math. We target k-4 math decision makers and teachers, along with wanting to appeal to parents to help their kids. The cover is for one of the workbooks which will be purchased by K-5 schools and their math administrators, K-5 teachers, parents of students who need help in K-4 mathematics.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We need a cover for a student workbook completed, “Building Number on RekenMathLine”. We have niche series of new math products called RekenMathLine, the RekenMathLine100, and the RekenMathline 5x20. See their corresponding grade appeal on the attached document below. We have new support workbooks called "Building Number" and "Understanding Operations". Each of the three RekenMathLine models have a cover for both of the books. So the contest is for the first workbook, however the winning designer, DEPENDING ON RATE, will get hired to complete the rest of the covers for Building Number Series.
SIMPLE DESIGN CAN BE GOOD, but I am open to anything.
BALANCED use of color, something that can be applicable to the rest of the series.
The winner of the contest can discuss with Dale Ylitalo doing 3 more covers for “Building Number” series which will look very similar and feel the same as the contest winning cover.
Then there is another series we hope to hire the designer to produce covers for at a similar rate providing the first series worked out. This series is the Understanding Operations on RekenMathLine.
The Understanding Operations Series will also feel like they are part of the same family but will have its own identity.
