North Regional TAFE got their new other book or magazine by running a design contest:
Create a welcome brochure for our students - passport style!
Check out North Regional TAFE's Other book or magazine contest…
We are a vocational training institution located in Australia's north west. We provide training programs to over 5000 students primarily to students in this region.
What's your vision?
We are looking for someone to design a 16 or 20 page study 'passport' that will be handed to our students after they enrol in a course. Basically this 'KTI Passport' will have all the information they need to know about the Institute (eg. car parking, fees, contact details, support services, etc). We would like it designed so it actually resembles a real passport. We want cool stamps in there (of locations in the Kimberley region - such as Broome, Fitzroy Crossing, Halls Creek, Derby, Wyndham, Kununurra). I have mocked up a completely draft version in the attachments. Even though it will be A5 it should resemble something similar below (keeping in mind these are wedding passports and ours will be for students): http://travelleranatomy.blogspot.com.au/2010/10/wedding-passport.html http://www.juxtapost.com/site/permlink/537007a0-3857-11e2-a8be-5f22dbcacd71/post/passport_invitations_for_vintage_travel_themed_wedding/ If we can consolidate our words, we will like it in A6 (but we imagine we have too many words for that size at the moment!). We still want our colours to really stand out - orange (pantone 166), black and white (optional grey). Font we use - something simply to read like Arial or Tahoma, minimum size 11 on all pages. Again, please see the attached pdf for a very rough draft of what we are after. If you could design a few concepts for the contest, we will award that and then ask you to continue with designing the 16 pages. Please view our website www.kti.wa.edu.au for more info on our look and feel.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Other book or magazine starts at $299.

It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their other book or magazine.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
North Regional TAFE collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
