Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
FAIRPORT HARBOR WEST BREAKWATER LIGHT is a working lighthouse located in Fairport Harbor, Ohio. It was purchased by Sheila Consaul of Oak Hill, VA in 2011 from a General Services Administration auction. First lit on June 9, 1925, the building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The beacon continues to serve as an active aid-to-navigation and is maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard. The structure also houses a National Weather Service (NWS) weather station, Station FAIO1, which provides continuous weather data to the NWS, commercial and recreational boaters of Lake Erie.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
I need designs to commission two stained glass windows that will be created to replace the missing transom window panes in the East facing doors at the lighthouse. I want the left window to represent nighttime -- showing the moon and stars -- and the right window to show daytime i.e. a beautiful sunrise.
These designs will be used by a stained glass artist to create the final windows. The final windows measure approximately 19 1/2 x 22 1/2" and are more vertical than horizontal.
