Design killer artwork for my new podcast!

Rock and Roll Zen

Rock and Roll Zen is currently a blog that I'm converting into a podcast. We help people to unearth their inner rockstar and live their true life's calling.

Rock and Roll Zen Podcast artwork description:

I'm looking for eye popping artwork for my new podcast, Rock and Roll Zen. The tagline for the podcast, which also needs to appear within the artwork is "Awaken your inner rockstar."

The show is about helping you to find your true life's calling and living the unique story you have to tell. The two worlds (Rock and Roll & Zen) come together in this way: rock and roll represents rebellion, the outlaw, the iconoclast. Zen is about simplifying all things down to their essence. So the podcast is all about boiling down the task of awakening your inner rockstar to its very essence.

So I want to incorporate those two elements: Zen (represented as a buddha image) and rock and roll (the rebel, the iconoclast, the outlaw) into the artwork.

The artwork should have the following elements:

Eyepopping large title text and high contrast artwork that can be seen clearly even when shrunk down to postage stamp size (150 x 150 pixels):
Resolution should be 2,048 × 2,048 (please also provide a 1400x1400 version)
RGB color space (not grayscale, CMYK, 8-bit indexed, or transparent)
JPEG and PNG file format

Notes regarding the buddha artwork. I'm open to all interpretations but will offer the following suggestions based on the attached images:
*It could be a half image so you have room for larger text
*It could be a sillouette as with the round image (also, I'm not opposed to this artwork being circular like that image ala the Starbucks logo with text on outer circle and imagery on the inside)
*It could be a buddha character you create that is a rockstar ala the female yoga animation provided

Notes on the rock and roll artwork:

* It could be a figure ala the True Religion artwork (PLEASE DO NOT COPY THIS) Just a suggestion for how to incorporate buddha and rock and roll
* The attached image of Pete Townshend (Guitarist from The WHO in his classic windmill pose is an iconic rock and roll image) I was thinking maybe you could create and incorporate a sillouette of this image where buddha could be holding a smaller representation of it in his hand (the awakening rockstar).
*Buddha could have sunglasses

The key is that the buddha image you create should be more cool and rock and roll than as a religious symbol.

These are only suggestions but the key to this assignment is to create instantly recognizable artwork that incorporates buddha and rockstar and immediately draws one's attention to it, making it stand out in the line up when viewing the iTunes New & Noteworthy podcast list. (I highly recommend you visiting the iTunes store and viewing this page so you get an idea of what that page of podcasts looks like with those tiny images and see what pops for you. That's what I'm after)

My colors are Red, White, and Black ala the hit TV show Madmen. I'm including an image from Madmen so you see the contrast using those colors. In the attached example image, the righthand side pops to me moreso than the left. So I'm thinking the artwork might have a white background, large red text (Rock and Roll Zen), different color tagline (Awaken your inner rockstar) that may be smaller but can be read even when shrunk down to 150 x 150 pixels. Then maybe black artwork outline or some combination of those color elements. HIGH CONTRAST is what I'm after. Again, I'm open to all suggestions. If you want to try other combinations, by all means. Just test your ideas by shrinking them down first and seeing if they still pop.

As an added bonus, I will rehire the winner to do my header for the website. I look forward to seeing your creative designs!
