patrick.robak got their new app design by running a design contest:
Web App for Users to Analyze and Manage Relationships between Customers from Multiple Sources

Accounting & Financial
The objective of this application is for a user to analyze and manage relationships between high volumes of customer data from multiple unrelated sources. A background process will group customers that have similarities, like geography or industry, into a "Master" record. The individual source records that make up the Master are "Sub-Entities". A user will have the ability to search and view customer records at both levels. They will also have tools available to analyze historical transactional activity via profiles. The project is aimed at giving the user a front-end to interact with and manage the data - by means of creating/breaking relationships, assigning/removing referential tags, and creating rules that generate events when certain conditions are met.
We are interested in a visually appealing design, color scheme, layout, and typography. It should be a hybrid between traditional banking/financial apps and new-age/creative styling. All fonts and any other assets must be freely available on Windows OS - no special fonts. In addition to the screens being requested, we would like a platform-wide style document to be used as a guide for future development.
1) After successfully logging in, the user will be automatically directed to a landing page/launch pad. Here the user can navigate to any module within the application or conduct a search for a specific customer. The two modules desired in this project are the Entity Module (Master and Sub-Entities screens) and the Event Module (Event Queue screen). There will also be a notification pane which alerts users to any important information or events (ex. X new customers today, Y new events awaiting review). 2) If the user would like to view a specific customer they will go to the form-based Master screen which displays all consolidated information and referential tags, as well as high-level transactional profile summaries. Desired elements include: a. Indicators for attributes which can be manually edited by the user b. Ability to launch a "Relationship Wizard" c. Ability to view multiple tag values for the same attribute (Default to "primary" tag - but other values can be viewed and assigned as primary) d. Ability to add notes and attachments e. Ability to view the change history 3) The user can then navigate to the form-based "Sub-Entities" screen to see all of the related source customer records that were consolidated together. They will be organized in an intuitive way, by relationship type, and can be expanded/collapsed to maximize screen space. Desired elements include: a. Expand/collapse sub-entities (collapsed view still shows key highlight attributes) b. Toggle to a simple table view (single flat row per sub-entity) c. All other desired elements from Master screen 4) The user can navigate to the Event Module which presents a form-based event management queue screen. This screen will organize and display events of various types that the user can browse, search, sort, filter, assign, and action upon.
What to avoid
Avoid slow performance. Avoid fonts and other assets that are not freely available on Windows OS - no special fonts.
