Hula Platypus got their new app design by running a design contest:
Simple Fantasy/Medieval Realm Building Game
Check out Hula Platypus's App design contest…
Games & Recreational
Simple round based RPG style game where you manage your realm and compete against other players. Building buildings, recruiting units to your army, gathering resources, and exploring to find buildable land.
Medieval/Fantasy RPG. The game is less graphical than most games, relying more on static imagery. So the header/footer should be a bit more stylized than a more modern Material UI like many apps. Not full on cartoon-like, but not necessarily full on realistic/serious either. The sweet spot somewhere in the middle.
Main navigation done by the footer with tabs and sliding up navigation menu. Tapping on various objects can popup modals for a variety of purposes. The header will have a toggleable sliding drawer that will extend and show various information. Screens will come in two main varieties. Displaying items in a grid view with multiple columns. And displaying a list of items that fill the width. Modals will popup and show various information. Screens needed(For Qualifying Round Focus on #1 or #2): 1. Grid view with a frame to contain images 2. List view with items having an image on the left with content/text on the right 3. Modal with a header and closing button and background Prototype layouts are attached below. All screens showing off the Header and Footer combined with examples of the differing layouts. (...content images are placeholders and will be taken care of separately, so no need to focus on icons/game images)
