Great work and communication through the entire project. I will definitely work with him again in the future.
- RED FLOOD
It was my pleasure to work with Red Flood.
It was clear from the beginning that they had the skills to complete a high level design job. In addition, his patience throughout the process of editing was one of the best I've seen. After his work I asked him to complete more work for me which was done in the same way. I highly suggest his work.
- InGen Design
InGen was communicative and highly adaptive to my feedback. A true pleasure to work with. Would use again.
- Bilal Mohammad
Great Designer, very happy!
How fabrizio_parzanese started their app design journey
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Entertainment & The Arts
We are working on an app for the young Arab women entered on Lifestyle video content, the app will enable users to watch and comment videos about 4 main Lifestyle topics/verticals (Food, Travel, Weddings/romance, Home/Gardening/DIY). The app has 4 main sections (you will need to show as the main navigation elements) that reflect those 4 main topics, on top we have an homepage that aggregates all the latests content published in a sort of an FB style video feed of content (with an infinite scroll approach). The app also has the ability for the user to filter content (both in the home/feed page and in the 4 topics/vertical pages. Lastly we have an additional Community page where the user is able to search and navigate through the existing community and join one or to create his/her own one and then interact in this community with a FB style social feed.
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the app?
The idea is to have an app with an light approach that can appeal to a young female audience (16 to 30) in the Middle East and North African countries. The aim is to be visually cool and fresh but considerate of the local culture and avoid be too safe or boring, and at the same time can't be over the top. The app should be perceived as a trustable and credible source of content but without going into the academic/educational space. The current brand name of the app should be 'DLife' and can appear at the top of each screen of the app (or not, based on your design approach). Light soft tones and pastel colours are usually used for these kind of apps but this is not a requirement, surprise us!
User starts from the main page of the app the content Feed.
This is a an FB style page, it is editorially curated with video content updated regularly from us, videos can be liked and shared by users on other social media platforms and can be commented (with text), there should be a visual way to recognise what type of content echo video post belongs to (one of the 4 main categories), one way can be color coding, but you can come up with your ideas on this. We will need for this page a long screen showcasing the infinite scroll feature of it. This page as the others has a classic hamburger menu (not necessary to show it, surprise us with potential alternative solutions) for the users to manage their profile/access and an easy access to the 4 main content areas of the app and the community section (you can opt for an Instagram old version style tab menu at the bottom of the screen with the feed at the center and the other main pages on the 2 sides or opt for another solution).
The user is always able to filter content (for bot the homepage/feed and the 4 vertical/topics pages) by using a series of visual filters that enable a a customisation of the experience. For example the user can decide to only be shown Food content that is related to Gluten free and Vegan recipes, or only watch video content that is shorter than 3 minutes or 5, or only watch content that has a specific tag (e.g. in the Travel section only Europe or Paris related content).
These filters should be a central element of the UI for the feed page and for the 4 vertical pages (decided if this is an always on screen solution or if it is something that the user can hide/unhide).
Pages from 2 to 4 of the app are structurally the same and they cover the 4 content topics (Food, Travel, Weddings/romance, Home/Gardening/DIY) they keep all the UI element of the main feed page but in this case the content we shaw is just related to the selected category and eventually filtered by the user in sub categories/tags/video length.
Last page is about community and the ability for users to join an existing community or create a new one, existing communities are organised by the same classification the 4 Lifestyle topics (Food, Travel, Weddings/romance, Home/Gardening/DIY). User sees the community he/she has joined on top.
You will need to design what happens after the user is in an actual community page after the user enters it. This page is once again a feed of content and comments, in this case the look should be a sort of and mixture of a classic FB feed and a chat/messaging app, in this case the users can upload their own videos/images/articles in a form of a post, or they can simply write some textual updates they can comment on other people's posts and directly contact other members of the community.
Please note that the user can also access in all the pages of the app a Search function to directly search for content (up to your choice if this search is part of the filtering UI element or not).
We also need an app icon, something very simple but nice looking.
What to avoid
Avoid to be over the top, avoid to be boring and too educational, keep it light and fun.
