costart got their new app design by running a design contest:
Learning made different
Check out costart's App design contest…
The app is a learning tool. It allows you to record or bring in podcasts of classes and then create flash cards around them. After which there is the gamification of the cards to master the lesson. The good case study is if you are having "1-2-1" tutoring and want to get the most out of it. So this way you can record the lesson and make sure you master everything in that lesson before moving on. I am looking for the following screens to be made: Lesson, Card, Class Main, Game Main (I have attach a app flow and some very rough mocks)
I want something functional but fun. There is two element to this app really, the function side of recording and making flash cards and then the fun side of the flash card game.
LearnMaster (project name)
People go into the APP and use it either to record a class (link to a class) and create flash cards. Or they use it to play memory games based around the flash cards they have create. There is some upload download option so it can be prepared by teachers. I have attached a schematic. Lesson Screen, Is functionality heavy. If you are having a lesson this is the screen you are in. You can record the class add class media. But what makes it a bit more tricky is that the user may be recording and taking photos or linking in podcasts and web pages (wiki) See the flashcard deck you have created and add more cards. (creating and seeing the full flash card is another screen) You can replay the lesson and add more into it. As the class replay it has time stamps with the corresponding flash cards. Card Screen: Creating or viewing a card. Each side of the card can have multiple inputs from Keyboard (international), Audio, Photo (select from the web/Instagram) and perhaps video. (not sure as file size is large) Class Main: Is a navigational page which helps you get into a class or create a new one. There are also to save a class to the cloud or your device. The class needs to be on your devise to work offline. You can also navigate to the Game section from a particular class. Game Main: Select game type, or Mix. Shows you class/lessons and your current score on each. The system will know what games are possible from the flash cards which are created.
