shahajf got their new app design by running a design contest:
Innovative design for our Trading Cards Gaming Platform
Check out shahajf's App design contest…
Games & Recreational
The app allows people to create "trading cards" from the photos on their devices and then bid/buy/trade them on our gaming/trading platform with other users.
You can think of our app as part game, part social experience. We are mainly targeting the 16 - 35 demographics. So we envision something that is fun to use, feels inviting to try. Probably more bright or dark colors than pastel ones but we are very open for any creative ideas you have.
Our app can be a bit complex in nature so for this contest we chose to focus on just certain aspects and leave the rest for future work. I'll start with trying to describe the overall usage of the app by a user: Our platform allows anyone to upload some of the photos they have on their mobile device and convert them into game cards they can trade with each other. Think of the baseball cards or dungeons and dragons or any other cards you might have played with and traded with your friends as a kid - but now anyone can create cards from their own media. Users can buy cards from each other using in-game coins (money), by trading one or more cards for other card/s or by combination of coins and cards. They can do that by posting bids (think eBay style bidding) or by negotiating directly with the card owner using a specialized chat interface (1 on 1 trading - think like haggling in the market or over craigslist with a seller “I’ll give you 3 Cards for that one card”. “No, my card is worth much more than that - give me 5 cards and $15 for it”). I know this might be hard to fully understand. If you have any questions, please feel free to send them my way at any time. There is no such thing as a stupid question. The screens we want to have design in the contest are: 1. User Profile Screen Users can browse other users’ profiles. On the profile there will be a lot of information to show: - The user avatar image - The user name - The user followers numbers - Short user bio - Estimated value of all the NFTs in his portfolio in dollars - A button or way to follow the person - List of all NFTs (we call them assets) he holds. For each NFT we show the following info: a. The Card image itself b. The name of the Card c. The current price of the Card d. The change in price in percentage e. The number of likes the Card got 2. Owned Card Screen A user can choose any of the Cards she owns to see the Card details as well as all the offers (bids) other users sent him for this Card. The screen should show the following information: a. The Card image itself b. The name of the Card c. The current price of the Card d. The change in price in percentage, over past 24 hours e. The number of likes the Card got g. Buy now price and an edit button to set this price. Basically it's a way for the user to say if someone willing to pay me this amount, she can buy it right away instead of sending me an offer I need to approve. h. List of current offers. For each offer the screen will show the following information: 1. Highest offer estimated value 2. The avatar of the user making the offer 3. The name of the user making the offer 4. The estimated value of the offer 5. A small preview image of each Card in the offer 6. Any money in dollars that the user added to the offer (remember - offers can be composed of just other Cards s, just money or combination of money and Card/s). 3. The 1 on 1 trading screen One of the ways we allow users to try and make trades is by communicating with another user 1 on 1. You can think about it almost like an enhanced chat interface. User X sees a Card she wants from user Y. She can initiate a trading conversation with user Y on this specific Card. We envision a screen that looks like a chat with extra buttons that allows for sending an offer. For example: User X should be able to choose the Cards and/or money is willing to give to User Y for his Card. User Y get the offer in this chat interface and can approve it or send an offer of his own - meaning he can basically say, I'm not willing to approve your trade, but if you give me these Cards you own I'll make the trade. So - each user should be able to see the NFTs the other user has and create an offer or counter offer. They should also always see the last offer on the table and be able to approve or reject it. Ideally, we would like them to also be able to send regular text messages like a normal chat but we are not sure if this all comes on one screen or one screen with buttons to create a new offer that opens up as a popup, or any other way. We really would love to see what you guys imagine here. One note to think of: Some users might hold tens or hundreds of Cards... One more note: Each Card can be of a type (common, rare or unique). When showing the NFTs of a user, it's important to group them accordingly as this type have big impact on their actual price and value. 4. My Assets Screen A user should be able to see all the NFTs he owns. You can think about it as his wallet. For this screen we introduce one more aspect of the platform. Cards can have a card type property that decides how rare are they in the game. The display of the cards should be baed on the following categories: 1. Cards of type common 2. Cards of type rare 3. Cards of type unique 4. Newly received cards (users can get bonus cards from the platform, get gifted cards, etc...) The screen should also show the number of cards in the wallet and the total value of the wallet (total value of all the cards they own) and the value change in percentage in the past 7 days. Ideally, we would love to see some unique thought on how this data should be displayed in an attractive but usable way. If it helps for inspiration, know that the platform is developed over the blockchain and will incorporate NFTs technology to represent cards (but you can safely ignore this aspect of the platform). And of course, as mentioned, we would be more than happy to answer any questions you have and provide more details and information as needed.
