Business & Consulting
Synctuit is like Twitter for small business. This smartphone/tablet/pc app has SIMPLE tools for small businesses to broadcast information that can increase revenue "right now" (such as "current availability", events and offer).
VERY IMPORTANT for these sites: VIEW them with: Narrow|Medium|Wide browser window width (or on smartphone, tablet and PC) to understand the design at different screen sizes- http://www.starbucks.com - clean, modern; RESPONSIVE design http://www.skype.com - clean, simple Memorable design | http://eatdrinkatx.com/ - MEMORABLE graphics (but typography isn't that great) || http://oliverrussell.com/ - nice typography, modern, vibrant colors
Needs to feel clean, modern, vibrant, MEMORABLE. Needs to present FINE design craftsmanship. The current design (app.synctuit.com) is too bland and uses boring typography. Spacing, sizing and screen placement of current design are CLUNKY. Saw a very interesting list treatment on techcrunch.com (also see screen capture in the file below). The idea is to put the list metadata on the "side" (in this case the left side), to call attention to important differences in list element content. JUST an idea > maybe some design treatment like this will provide a nice way to break up an otherwise boring list. IMPORTANT NOTE FOR FINALISTS: After reviewing all design entries, our team decided that the most problematic and important part of the design is the Customer Find View List. We also discussed what elements of the current designs that we liked - and put these elements into some PPT mockups (see the file synctuit.pdf). We like the "C" option in this ppt file - and are instructing you to base your final edits TO BOTH PAGES on this design; obviously, you are free to interpret/enhance this as you see fit, but this specific option has been provided to explain the combination of factors that are most important to us: - simple design with dominant "white/gray space" - sparing, but impactful use of color - strong serif type font (that isn't the garden variety arial/helvetica/verdana, etc - but one of the nicer google fonts PT Sans, Oswald, etc.) - interesting design elements that make the list more interesting than the typical list Hope this helps. Many thanks for your fine efforts.
