Martinvoelkening got their new app design by running a design contest:
Fun and inviting design needed for Group Game app
Check out Martinvoelkening's App design contest…
The app allows the user to easily search for games (not board games and not computer games but games like hide and seek or bobbing for apples) that groups will play during youth group, camp, class, birthday parties etc. The games include games with a variety of materials like balls, ropes, balloons, dice etc. The players can be of any age from 2-99 years.
It needs to be fun and inviting. The target audience are youth group leaders, youth pastors, teachers, kindergarten teachers etc. A fun and maybe cartoonish style would be great.
=== Start screen === The user starts on the main screen (see attached screenshot) where he finds six major icons in rows of two: Inside/Outside Small Group/Large Group Quiet games/Active game (each of those buttons will have to have a state of unselected (by default) or selected which have to be easily differentiated) Underneath is a button that says 'Let's play'. The user can narrows their search by selecting none, one or more of those icons and start the search at any time by hitting the button, swiping right or shaking. === Game screen === The first game will be displayed (a bunch of different texts with headlines, see second screenshot) and the user can hit a button, swipe right or shake again to get to the next game or back. There are also buttons to share something by Facebook, Twitter or email. On the bottom will be a link to the book that the game was taken (example for a book see http://www.rex-buch.ch/index.php?ac or http://www.rex-buch.ch/index.php?ac…p;var=3054 from along with the cover of the book (for the free version). There will also be a paid version which has more content and more functionality. === List screen === The user also has the option to see a list view of the results (see third screenshot). === Bottom tab bar ==== There is also the need for Help, Upgrade now (for in app purchases) and More (to market other apps) on the bottom. === General Information === The design needs to accommodate iOS (iphone, ipod touch and ipad) and Android as well as all different resolutions in the end. The app will be build both in German and English with German first.
