marten-s got their new app design by running a design contest:
The first digital journey to self-esteem

Cosmetics & Beauty
Our app enables women to build self-esteem through a 5-stage digital journey (based on psychological interventions) combined with a peer-coaching community. After going through the fixed journey, our users can come back to Soleil anytime they’re in need of a self-esteem boost so that they can feel better about themselves over the long term.
We have a website, but it is not good enough designed yet. We will update the website once the app is being designed.
See document attached
Soleil interacts with the users in a journey that takes the form of a story. We would like the app to feel like a gamified journey that motivates the user to put some consistent effort into engaging with it, and that is also nice to look at and to interact with. The users first go through an onboarding process where we explain the journey they are about to engage in and where we setup their account. Once the onboarding is done, the users need to go through the 5 stages (which we can consider as chapters). The users need to go through each of these chapters and at the end of the journey find self-love / self-esteem. Each of the five chapters is composed of 3 parts: "learn", "measure" and "do". The “learn” component explains a psychological construct to the user (using text, images and/or videos). The “measure” component involves completing a psychological questionnaire, after which the user receives their results. The “do” part involves receiving exercises the users can engage in based on the results of taking the questionnaire. The screens contain text, images, and videos to explain/teach new concepts around psychological wellbeing. Moving from one screen to another could be done with a unique slide (or similar). When the user leaves the story, they are redirected to the main dashboard or homepage where they can get an overview of where they are at in the overall story (i.e., what they have completed and what is coming next).
What to avoid
Please do not design boxes where the user has to click on one after the other like in all other content-driven mental health apps. We are building a story here not boxes. Also, we are not a tool for mediation or relaxation, we are not making people happy or relaxed. We build self-esteem and make people stronger. We are a psychological self-development tool. Lastly, we don’t want something too pinky but more gender neutral (but also not masculine, we are still targeting women) Thank you! :)
