cultureshock1234 got their new app design by running a design contest:
Design a video annotation MacOS app
Check out cultureshock1234's App design contest…
This applications is a macOS app for video annotation, with which even a non-design-professional can intuitively add annotations or captions directly on top of a video file. NOT needing high-quality design editing features like Photoshop’s paint brush or Final Cut Pro’s screen management, it just has a simple annotation feature, adding a text, shape, arrow or pixelation (as a new layer) onto a video file. For example, * An engineer will be helped identify exactly where to be fixed in a screencast video in a bug report. * A marketer can point out exactly where to be revised in his creative team's marketing video. * A sales representative can easily point out exactly where to be paid attention through his demo video pitch. * and so on ...

This app is built with inspiration from Skitch for Mac (https://apple.co/2VdHpo1), but now it needs more sophisticated but simpler interface to help everyone intuitively interact with video files. In terms of the color palette, the attached examples are impressive and superior from my perspective, but any constructive suggestions are always welcome.
The app's workflow is as described in this note: https://www.evernote.com/l/ABaBIn4thbREOosOiFtZO91HpGLbwXpvYO4 And, the screens which need UI/UX tweaks are as follows: 1. Media Library - A screen where a user sees a list of annotation projects in order. 2. Video Editing/Annotating Screen - A screen where a user takes care of his annotation work. - Include both the primary video view and the annotated item list sidebar. 3. Exported PDF - A page where a user sees a certain project's annotation summary. These three are all explained in the note above.
What to avoid
You should specify actual pixel details or aspect ratio for each component (icons, header/sidebar, or media player and so on) in the final deliverables.
