Design a leading educational app - Build the gym for your soul

Education

The app allows our customer to improve their lives by learning important skills such as meditation, breath work, sound healing and more. Customers can learn specific skills or get a personalized learning journey based on their personal goals. You can think about it as "gym for your soul". Shift is currently a big player in the spiritual education space, providing tens if not hundreds of courses on a wide range of spiritual topics and skills.

We are targeting people age 30 - 50 who want to live a more conscious lives. In general the app should reflect calmness and nature - probably using more soft, earth/natural tones. At the same time, we are looking for a modern and slick look and experience.

The Shift Network

There are three types of users we looking to serve: 1. Users who want to reach a specific goal or solve a problem in their lives. For example: Be more happy, sleep better, reduce anxiety, etc. For these users we would ask what is their goal (with a list of pre-defined ones) and then build them a personalized educational journey. For example: If someone goal is to reduce anxiety the journey might include intro to meditation course, a few videos on the topic of being still, a daily routine of 1 min shift video and a full length course on sleeping better. 2. Users who comes to us wanting to learn a specific skill like meditation, breath work or plant medicine (just examples). These users can browse the full catalog of content based on specific categories/skills and find the content they need. 3. Users who are not sure what they want to learn and just want to browse. The app will provide things like featured content, trending content as well as search capability to help them find what they want to watch. The app navigation will be tab based. You can find more information about the app tabs in the attached vision document. The screens we are looking to design as part of the competition are: - The home tab - The journeys tab - The learn tab - Start a personalized journey screen: This screen should help users choose the goal they want to reach, how much time they want to dedicate daily/weekly for reaching the goal - Content screen: When a user choose a specific content, he should see a screen with some header and information such as the content title, the instructor name and photo, the length of the content, etc. Each content can have some text, a video and potentially next steps. Please note that in the attached vision document when we refer to "faculty members" we mean instructors. We use the term faculty internally. Please feel free to send us any questions you have. If there are other screens you prefer to design such as the signup/login or specific content screen Important to add - there are two types of content we provide: - Standalone video content. - Mini courses: each course is composed of a series of videos you should watch in a specific order. Although most content is video based, some might be audio or text only. Video content can also have some text a suer should read like an intro to the video or next steps to follow after watching the video.
