nikolajdt got their new app design by running a design contest:
Design for new educational app
Check out nikolajdt's App design contest…
The app helps the user improving on the pronunciation of foreign languages by playing recordings of natively speaking persons as well as giving the user the possibility to record their own voice and playing this to compare with the natively speaking person. You can install the current version of the app by joining the google group joining the beta program: https://plus.google.com/communities/109868815988074581695
You can either see the screenshots of the app or install it and try it out your self. It pretty much shows the design thoughts we have made, however these are not set in stone and we will encourage to think outside of what we have already made. We will prefer a simplistic design and if possible incorporate the colors of our logo (see attached file).
The main/root screen is a list of categories or sounds, either shown as a list or a grid. From here it is either possible to go to a sub category or interact with a sound(e.g., a letter, a number or short sentence). Interacting with the sound should either be playing the sound or going to the second screen. The second screen is centered around the sound. From here it is possible to play the sound, record your self and play these recordings.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. App design starts at $599.
