PLEASE SEE THE FULL BRIEF DOCUMENT ATTACHED ("CheftimeDesignBrief.pdf") CHEFTIME: E-commerce and Delivery of Recipe Ingredient Kits for customers who’d like to cook but don’t want to bother looking up good recipes, grocery shopping, measuring and preparing ingredients. Our service is intended to be a one-stop-shop for persons who want to cook, experiment with gastronomy and/or learn new recipes, but don’t do it often for lack of time and the inconvenience of going grocery shopping. Cooking sophisticated, chef-designed dishes, with high quality fresh ingredients, will be thus be conveniently available to all with little hassle, even if the customer is a kitchen novice. All of the necessary ingredients, pre-measured and ready to use - down to the right amount of salt and pepper! - will be delivered fresh to the home or office inside a custom boxed kit, accompanied by a step-by-step illustrated cooking guide for 1 recipe out of our 12-dish, weekly updated menu. Customers will be able to view the menu and recipe details and videos and order kits on both the Website and a mobile App for iPhone and iPad. Step-by-step cooking videos featuring the partner chefs preparing their creations and offering culinary tips will be accessible from all above platforms. The iOS App must communicate and offer our product efficiently and in an inviting manner. App screens must be practical, focusing on what really matters: the beautiful dishes and other important info. Navigation is supposed to be very simple, with only a few layers and not many fixed links/buttons. Further information should be made visible simply by scrolling further down on most cases. The goal is to attract the customer and promote the purchase, facilitating the ordering of the ingredient kits. ... PLEASE REFER TO THE ATTACHED “CheftimeBrand.pdf” or "CheftimeBrand.ai" FOR OUR BRAND AND LOGO IMPLEMENTATIONS in .pdf or Adobe Illustrator (vector) formats. YOU CAN ALSO FIND THE LOGO IMAGES IN .PNG IN THE FILE NAMED "PNG Logo.zip" This brand image is the base from which you will create the Website and iOS App designs. The graphic logo icon and the word Cheftime can be applied according to the variations found in the file. Even though the iOS apps will have a leaner design, with less visual elements, the Website and the Apps will share the same visual identity, associated with our company name and logo, but with a dedicated layout that fits each platform (iPhone, iPad, web) accordingly. The design must be clear, uncluttered and sophisticated, but also familiar and welcoming. Dish images and videos must stand out prominently from the rest, leaving design elements and skeuomorphism to a minimum. iOS 7 design cues should be applied as appropriate. We are opening two separate contests: one for the iOS App and another one for the Website. You are welcome to participate in both contests separately, but providing matching designs. If you are designing both the iPhone and iPad apps, and also the Website design, please do it with a single focus, so that all versions have common elements and are familiar to the user. In order to do this, please check both the App and Website MOCKUPS to get a good understanding of our content and design needs, before you start creating your own design for all three platforms.
PLEASE SEE THE FULL BRIEF DOCUMENT ATTACHED FOR MORE DETAIL ("CheftimeDesignBrief.pdf") We are opening two separate contests simultaneously: one for the iOS App and another one for the Website. You are welcome to participate in both contests, providing matching designs. The iPad and iPhone versions must be cleverly designed to make innovative use of each device’s screen real estate and iOS 7 design and functionality, to provide an easy-to-use and awe-generating experience. List of app screens to be designed (more info in the MOCKUPS): - Welcome screen (logo followed by a brief 1-time “How-the-Service-Works” 4-step illustration flow) - Home (our Menu) - full Recipe video and info Page - My Cheftime (user account and community page): purchase history, order status, user achievements, Cheftime Blog (social networking, community photos, promotions, contests) ... PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED BRIEF ("CheftimeDesignBrief.pdf") AND THE MOCKUP (“CheftimeApp.pdf”) FOR DETAILS OF EACH SCREEN TO BE DESIGNED, containing the general elements and functionality that must be found on each page, as well as a few comments. Importantly, the designer is totally free to propose original layouts.
What to avoid
PLEASE SEE THE FULL BRIEF DOCUMENT ATTACHED FOR MORE DETAIL ("CheftimeDesignBrief.pdf") Please DON’T rely heavily on any one strong “theme” (e.g.: vegetables or greenery all around; generic drawings of plates, silverware, cook hats or chalkboards; any exaggerated ludicrous elements; happy family pictures). The only common theme for us is the kitchen environment, but it should be enough to feature the kitchen in our product photos and videos. We want to appear professional and also appeasing to amateur and wanna-be professional cooks of all kinds, shapes and ages. Please provide ORIGINAL designs, not just copies of other app and website design and layout references. We want to improve on them, not copy them. Also, please provide the full (rolled-down) screen/page views with all the requested content, as seen in the mockups.
