Grounded! An App for parents by parents You shouldn’t feel grounded, just because your kid is. GROUNDED saves parents time, by allowing them to remotely assign and monitor their children’s math and spelling practice while keeping them on task. The APP takes the parents place in directing and monitoring their child’s learning, thru math and spelling activities. - A way for parents to assign and monitor (remotely) children’s math and spelling practice. - Weekly Log report, how much their kids are practicing. - Math and Spelling activities - Text notification to parents upon completion of practice. - Grounded is the equivalent of making your children write out their “times tables,” or, addition up to 100. - Live worksheets (Math and Spelling) - Real time feedback of what your child is doing. Parents can assign work, ie. MATH (Addition 1+1,1+2………1+99, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division.) OR SPELLING. The app takes the child through each level of math or spelling activities, with no progression until the child has answered the present question, helping them by directing them to the correct answer after multiple failed attempts. Scenario: 1) Parent – Jimmy, you need more work on your times tables. Go work on them and complete your 7 x tables. 2) Child (after complaining) – Okay Mom 3) Jimmy then logs on to the app, in which the parents have set the parameters (seven times tables up to 7x15. These could be presented in, “Fill in the blank space in the grid,” OR Singular questions, 1x1,=1, NEXT, 1x2=2. 4) Jimmy will not progress to the next level, until the current question is answered successfully. On completion of practice, parent will be notified via text message. APP WILL HELP Direct the child to the right answer if the child answers unsuccessfully a number of times. MORE INFO: This is where the “Grounded” app comes in: Parent talking – Jimmy, you were supposed to feed the dog today, you didn’t, you could use more work on your 7 x tables. Child – (after complaining and whining not to do it.) Okay Mom Parent then logs in to the app from their phone, and inputs – 7x tables, 10 times (with a sly smile while inputting the parameters of the activity to be learnt) Parent – Son, please log in, and you will see what you have to complete. Son logs in, sees that he has his 7x tables to learn, and write it out 10 times, (filling in the blank spaces, etc.) Jimmy will not progress to the next level, until the current question is answered successfully. On completion of practice, parent will be notified via text message. These could be presented in, “Fill in the blank space in the grid,” OR Singular questions, 1x1,=1, NEXT, 1x2=2. APP WILL HELP Direct the child to the right answer if the child answers unsuccessfully a number of times. - We see him completing it, and getting a “reward icon”, the child smiles, having completed his punishment. A Text notification is then sent to the parent. - They receive it, they smile. EVERYONE IS HAPPY!
I Like simple but beautiful. Don't like cartoons. This app is for ages 7-10 (Grade 1-3) so should be easy for the child to navigate to answer their questions. This app is designed for parents who are giving their children math and spelling assignments because they were acting bad or misbehaving. Mike
