Design an amazing, modern app for bird spotters!

There are 4 main functions / use-cases:
1. App is used to help identify birds based on the criteria provided by the user (e.g. colour, leg size, tail size) - basically an extended search facility. This is a primary function.
2. App is used to log sightings of birds to one or more lists with additional information about the sighting e.g. time/location/number of birds/comment/photo - also able to share sightings on social media. This is a primary function.
3. App is used to manage lists of bird sightings e.g. "Life list" is your all-time list of birds seen, or it could be "Summer 2019 Holiday" list or something like that. This is also a primary function.
4. Report on the lists including showing on a map view, or by statistics e.g. number seen by day.

Other functions:
- signup/register user
- manage user profile - login / logout / user settings
- bulk add birds to lists and export lists to email or some other format
- add custom user-defined birds to the catalog
- sync bird lists to other devices
- export lists as emails

The app is called IdentiFly on the iOS App store - it is free currently - you can see it there or download it

Please see my existing (poor) design in the attached images to give you some idea what I am starting from - I need someone to help bring together the app in a properly designed workflow/user journey and have the associated design style to make it look like a professional app.

IdentiFly

Screen 1
Combination search criteria / results screen (will be the landing screen on the app).

Allow user to search for birds using one or more criteria:
a) text search
b) feather colours [brown, white, cream, orange, pink, blue, black, grey, yellow, red, purple, green OR Any colour]
c) bird size [tiny/very small, small to medium, large, OR Any size]
d) beak colours [black,brown,white,orange,yellow,red,grey OR Any colour]
e) leg size [normal, long or Any leg size]
f) tail size [normal, long or Any tail size]
g) habitat [forest,park,city,farmland/wetland,garden,coast/waterways OR Any habitat]
The bird list will filter based on the criteria provided and show the results immediately - name of the bird, alternative name, latin/scientific name and facility to say "IdentiFly" - i.e. I saw this bird - this will lead to another screen (screen 2) to then fill in the details before logging the sighting.

Ability to bulk select more than 1 bird to add in the sightings from the results.

The landing screen should also have a way to navigate to the other app functions: manage profile/register user, manage lists, add custom birds and other subsidiary functions like 'rate the app', 'send feedback'

Screen 2
Used to populate all information relating to a sighting before saving and adding to a list
Also the same screen used to edit existing sightings

Pre-populate screen with the bird details chosen from the "IdentiFly - I saw this bird" function on screen 1. Must show the name and image of the bird selected as a reference at least. It is possible to pick more than one type of bird using the bulk-select function

Allow user to capture multiple other items of information including:
a) photographs / images of the sighting
b) Notes / comments about it
c) Pick which list(s) to add the sighting to
d) How many birds were there?
e) What date was the sighting?
f) What was the location of the sighting (can pick from map)
g) add 1 or more sound recordings of the bird **new**

Screen 3
The bird list screen

Used to show a specific list of birds in multiple view and add more birds to the list (using a bulk version of the search/results screen)

- Multiple views of the list:
a) list of birds
- List of all sightings including main image(s), date, notes/comments
- Tapping sighting will allow editing of the sighting (edit mode of screen 2)
b) list shown on a map view
c) list shown as charts/statistics - select a date range, and bar charts show number of species per day and total number of species

Able to share list from here e.g. mail/message

Hi! If it wasn’t clear in the brief I just wanted to clarify - I don’t want a re-skin of the current app - I want someone to completely redesign the interface and the user journey. For example there are currently several screens to do the search and results - I want that condensed to one screen where you can choose all the criteria (colours etc) and see the results on the same screen. Similarly with screens 2 and 3 - the current screens shouldn’t be used as the basis for your design - they are just there to give you some more context.
