What's your vision?
An overall print or pattern to be laser engraved on a pen which will then be anodized. The print needs to be seamless as it wraps completely around the pen and must also be seamless where the cap meets the body of the pen. The print sizes are: Pen Cap: 39.58mm x 50mm Pen Body: 39,58mm x 81.25mm The print must be a vector file that can be converted to DWG (like an Adobe Illustrator file).
I would like the style of the print to be an merging of paisley, tribal tattoo with an ancient art look. By that I mean swirling lines that are loosely tied together, with an ethnic flavour but not really identifiable as any specific genre. Below are images that include some of the influences I'd like to see in the print. What I want is a mix, so not a print that can be identified as paisley, or tattoo, but a mix creating something new. Why I chose the prints below. -The green and purple rings are what the pen will look like (laser engraving the pattern, then colouring). I like the prints on them as they kind of like hieroglyphics or paisley, but in an abstract way. -the tattoo art because I like the shapes, a print done in that style and expanded into an all over print like the paisley prints is the type of thing I want. -I added the hieroglyphic images as I think some could be worked into the design in the same way skulls were used in the paisley pattern next to it or in the way they were used in the green ring. -I want the print to be not too repeat looking. For example the paisley with the single icon that has been repeated (the image that has the most black background) is not the look I want. Shapes like that can be worked in, but I want to print to more like a bunch of patterns tied together, rather than repeated. Also remember a pen is quite small and the prints will be tone on tone (like the two rings) so the print shouldn't be too busy or small. Contact me with any specific questions or clarification and I look forward to seeing you designs. Thank you!
