When a child is diagnosed with multiple food allergies it can be overwhelming for both the parents and the child trying to avoid all the things he/she can't eat. Thus, I like to focus on what the child can eat rather than what he/she can't eat. A special placemat for the child with pictures of foods he/she can eat is very helpful as well as educational. The lesson is that there are STILL LOTS of foods he/she CAN eat so the placemat should have LOTS of different foods on it.
These will generally be custom placemats. Because each child's allergies differ, the placemat design needs to be such that I can easily swap out one food for another or delete a couple of foods without destroying the design. I would also like a spot in the design for the child's name. This may present an opportunity for follow-up work, but I absolutely need to be able to do it easily myself in a pinch.
I teach clients to eat a rainbow because different colored foods have different nutrients and you need to eat them all. Although I'm definitely open to other designs, I think a rainbow design or a design grouping foods by colors with an emphasis on fruits and vegetables would be appealing. The important thing is that the design is appealing to children and the images alone won't accomplish that, which is why I need your professional help.
I want the images to have a consistent as well as realistic look and extended licenses are not inexpensive so I have purchased several images with white backgrounds that contain multiple foods on one image. The images are arranged such that each individual food can easily be stripped out and used separately. I will upload those images for your use.
Please do not use any images of dairy products (eggs are not dairy), raw meat, bread, or food in containers (except the olive oil).
The design should include copyright verbiage at the bottom right and measure 11x17 inches.
