The contest is to create the design of a floating fitness mat that is used for yoga, pilates, and crossfit. This is a brand new fitness craze, that evolved from people doing yoga on paddle boards to losing the board and creating a floating fitness mat specifically for exercise that can be used between pool lanes, in open pools, and on any calm body of water. This thing is inflated to high pressure and extremely rigid, like a board. The dimensions are 3' wide by 8' long by 6" thick.
As your rough template, you can use the attached image: white-white.gif.
We are a leading producer and seller of inflatable paddle boards, so it's a logical product extension for us. We thinking of naming this product the "Tower Sculpt".
There are 3 products currently on the market, which I've attached images of (Aquabase (maxresdefault.jpg), Glide Floatfit (glide-floatfit.jpg), and the Boga Fitmat Aqua (boga-fitmat-aqua.jpg)).
We are looking for a clean and classic look, and I've attached an "early stage, rough mock-up" white on white design concept (white-white.gif) that we are considering internally. This is a mix of matte and glossy whites in a similar fashion to how an iPhone blends black on black in like the latest iPhone 7.
There are a series of 2 padded handles upfront and two handles in the rear, and the orientation of these is pretty well set. Note these handles are formed by 2 d-ring patches with a silver d-ring in them, then webbing connects them and there is neoprene around the webbing for confort. There is an inflation valve on one end between the two handles. The center area of the board will have a traction pad that is likely, relatively smooth. On the bottom of the fitness mat, there needs to be a handle centered so the user can carry the board under his/her arm.
We like this white on white concept, but we're open to other ideas of course. So if you want to flush out a white on white option, go for it. If you want to do something in a completely different direction, go for it. Blow us away!
Note I've included pictures of our paddle boards so you can grab the actual photos of the d-rings, the handles, the inflation valve, and the unique texture of our inflated paddle board, which is the same material and construction as these fitness mats will be.
