Jin Group got their new menu by running a design contest:
Takeout Menu for Japanese Izakaya Restaurant
Check out Jin Group's Menu contest…
Mission Statement: Here at Nanaya Japanese Kitchen, we believe in challenging food in a way that elevates age-old recipes while maintaining the authenticity of the Japanese flavor palette. We've achieved this by bringing five experienced chefs from Japan to collaborate and craft our menu. Everything we offer from our protein down to the each individual vegetable has been cooked with love, care, precision, and attention to detail.
What's your vision?
We need a takeout menu for our restaurant's soft opening. We're looking for a takeout menu that emphasizes our three specialty items and visually pops. We need our customers to open our menu and immediately have their attention drawn to one of our three specialty items. We don't want our menu to look like a wall of text. Handmade illustrations of our specialty items that are emphasized may serve as an attractive visual representation of our food since printing actual photos would be pricey for a disposable menu but designers are not limited to this concept -- We are open to other ideas. I've included some images you can use as concept inspiration. Our special items: Tempura Ribs -- Extremely tender and flavorful pork ribs coated in a layer of crispy tempura batter Tonkatsu Sando -- 1 1/2 inch piece of very tender pork topped with a layer of crispy katsu in between two slices of Japanese milk bread Paitan Ramen -- Thick and creamy chicken based broth with NO MSG, this allows for customers to enjoy a heart bowl of ramen without feeling bloated afterwards Current list of other menu items: Starters / Appetizers: California Roll Spicy Tuna Roll House Salad Nanaya Salad Miso Soup Iidako Gyoza Suzuran Navajo Bread Karaage Shinsen Musubi Entrees: Tempura Ribs*** Steak ’n Eggs Chicken Teriyaki Salmon Yuanyaki Takikomi Inari (Vegan Dish) Katsu Sandwiches: Gyukatsu Sando Tonkatsu Sando*** Ramen: Paitan Ramen*** Chintan Ramen Items with stars are the special items I have referred to, the items do not have to be in this order. Ideally special items would be in their own category so they stand out more. Prices are subject to change so designers are welcome to use any price for each item.
