Food & Drink
My Cocina is an upscale Mexican restaurant with a casual vibe. We serve scratch-made Mexican cuisine with a twist. The restaurant's style is ancient Mayan/Aztec with dark woods, neutral desert colors, and geometric shapes. We do NOT follow the typical Mexican restaurant-style of bright colors and mosaics, as we like to have the food bring the color to the customer's experience. Our target audience is middle to upper class men and women that are looking to enjoy authentic Mexican food and cocktails in a casual, modern atmosphere.
What's your vision?
A food menu that is aesthetically pleasing but clean and easy to read.
I'd like the design to be a single-sided vertical (portrait) layout, maybe a logo or simple rustic design on the backside - however, if the number of categories and items is better laid out in double-sided format, I'm open to it. The dimensions are FLEXIBLE based on the space needed to include all of the menu items and a font large enough to be readable (at least 11pt). For reference: our past menu was 9inches x 13inches - but we can print at any size. I prefer left-justified menu items. readability is very important - the menu should be easy to follow. Clean, spaced out, not crammed. My personal style is clean and simple, however, I want the vibe of the menu design to still capture the casual, comfortable, rustic style of the restaurant - have some style and personality. Overall, I'm seeking a design that is easy to read, has some stylistic elements within a clean layout, but not too elegant. Presently, the fonts we use most frequently for headers are "Fredricka the Great" and serif fonts, like American typewriter.
