I think Machu is amazing. Remarkably talented designer and very honest. I think the world of him and would sole-source my next design project to him.
Great to work with and very responsive to my requests for changes. I will happily work with him again in future.
How chrisabeardsley started their magazine cover journey

What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We explain the science of athletic performance to professional sports coaches, athletes, and interested amateurs. We create daily infographics to report on the latest sports science, write regular thought-leading opinion pieces, and publish a paid monthly magazine (electronic format only).
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We need a new cover for our monthly magazine (8.5 x 11 inches portrait, issued in PDF format) because of a change in the editorial staff. The name of the magazine is "The S&C Research Review". The old magazine was edited by Bret Contreras and Chris Beardsley. The new magazine will only be edited by Chris Beardsley. The magazine covers the latest research in sports science, with a focus on strength training and athletic performance. The cover needs to leave space (in the lower half of the page) for an edition title each month (e.g. September 2017 Soccer edition) which will be added using Adobe InDesign. Attached images are: one old style cover, and 5 pages from a draft section currently being prepared for the new style edition (pages numbered 1-5). Ideally, the work will be completed in time to accompany the next edition on 1 October 2017.
An image of the monthly magazine cover will be used in promotional marketing, including banners on Facebook and Twitter. So the ability to show just the top half or three quarters of the cover in such advertising without the edition name/number showing is a valuable feature, as it can be reused more easily.
