Innovative Retail Technologies is a business-to-business (B2B) trade magazine. Our audience is comprised of retail executives. IRT is a professional full-scale media product.

I need a SLEEK, INNOVATIVE, PROFESSIONAL grade magazine cover design for our upcoming May/June 2016 issue. The cover design MUST meet our exact specs or we cannot accept it even if it is the best design. The cover must include the IRT logo (attached) as well as other very specific design elements (see below). The feature story, which is the focus of the cover, is on Best Buy (cover image attached). The following headline and subhead should be placed appropriately. Headline and subhead font should be Myriad Pro. Headline font size should be large enough to read. Subhead font should be smaller (approximately 11 point). HL: Inside Best Buy Canada’s New Marketplace Initiative SH: How Best Buy Canada is letting its customers define their experience with the brand, and expanding its e-commerce market share along the way. This cover will have an Address Box in the lower left corner and the size and placement of the Address Box MUST meet our specs exactly, as they are set forth by the United States Postal Service. The Address Box must be white. Please include/dedicate space for THREE blurbs. Please use dummy text for now. PLEASE CALL OUT THE BLURBS IN AN INNOVATIVE WAY. Also, we need a special call out for slot for our research supplement that will be included in the magazine. use the text: INSIDE: 2016 Mobility Special Report Finally, we need to include the following elements on the page: Small LinkedIn logo; Small Twitter logo (Twitter handle = @RetailMag) www.InnovativeRetailTechnologies.com Formerly Integrated Solutions For Retailers As you will see, I have very specific guidelines, but please feel free to be creative. This should be exceptionally professional. The main image (Best Buy) has a lot of blue in it. I do not want the cover to have a lot of blue. Please incorporate other complimentary colors throughout the rest of the design.

Exact dimensions of an IRT cover = 8.25” x 10.875”. SPECS: • Cover file should be set up for InDesign CS5, version 7.0 • Refer to the attached ad specs for color requirements, trim size, and ad sizes o All colors must be process CMYK ( no spot, RGB or ICC sRGB color profiles) o All images should be vector or 300 dpi • Fonts must be PC-based and not CS6 type-kit fonts • Package the file so it includes the InDesign file, fonts, and any required images as well as any special instructions • Live elements should be no closer than .5” from trim • Do not set up smart text reflow on text boxes • Substituted fonts are not permitted • Ruler units should be in inches, text size & stroke units in points • Set the InDesign document to check links before opening the document & to find missing links before opening the document • All image manipulations must be saved in the source file so that we can update/change at a later date. If they must flatten artwork, they should save a psd or eps/ai file for us to access if needed. • Must provide source files for CS5 • All colors used in InDesign layout must be set up in swatches and named intuitively ADDRESS BOX SPECS: US Post Office mailing label requirements: • White Box sized at 4” wide x 1.5” tall placed at .5” from left edge of trimmed page & .5” from bottom edge of trimmed page
