tjgornall got their new logo & hosted website by running a design contest:
Help dstnctv break out of the ordinary
Check out tjgornall's Logo & hosted website contest…
who are dstnctv? - dstnctv are a branding and communications collective. - We help businesses to break out of the ordinary and stand out from their competition, by giving them scientifically robust direction on how to be different in a way which resonates with their customers and consequently drives profitable growth. who are our target audience? - Our target audience includes entrepreneurs, small businesses and startups. - They need clear branding direction and appreciate the importance and value of having a strong brand from day one. - They'll most like be based in London and will be looking for precise advice, recommendations and input which help take their brand to the next level. why is there an opportunity for dstnctv? - Other branding agencies often provide foundationless, vague input, which customers find frustrating and consequently aren't willing to invest in. - dstnctv is aiming to position itself as the exact opposite to this in every respect. Important considerations before starting work - Please refer to the attached documents, before starting any work. - Just to be clear, please ignore the fonts / colours / design used in these documents. They're not intended to provide any direction or indication of preference. - Please also bear in mind that 'dstnctv' is a word that people are unfamilar with, so all the letters will need to be fully legible in order to give the logo the best chances of being understood.
Other color requirements
- I wouldn't want just a black and white logo for dstnctv please, just to make this clear. Black and white can feel quite cold and binary. We collaborate with our clients on something which is very emotive, so we need to feel warm and approachable. - While a lot of the logos that I've included as examples are black and white, it's the simplicity and intelligence of them that I admire, rather than the fact they're black and white. - I'd like colour to be incorporated into the logo in a subtle, creative way, rather than it all just being one colour. - The other point I'd like to call out please is that a potential approach for a logo for dstnctv is to just go 'rainbow': use the brightest, most clashy colours to get it to stand out. This is something I'd definitely want to avoid please. - The dstnctv logo of course must be distinctive, it's the basis of our proposition and what we're selling to other companies. However, we need to be distinctive in an intelligent, precise, innovative way, rather than a shouty, obvious, crude way. - Lastly, dstnctv is spelt using lower case letters, not capitals. Again, this is a reflection of how our direction is intelligent, not shouty.
