RIGVISIT will utilise state of the art laser survey technology capable of taking1,000,000 measurements a second, to entirely scan/survey offshore facilities such as drill rigs and obtain a 3D model to +/- 2mm accuracy.
Following the scanning/data acquisition phase, our customers will be able to securely access a 3D model of their facility and conduct a virtual tour via http://www.rigvisit.com (see screen dump pdf).
These virtual visits to the rig, will eliminate most of the current need for engineers and managers to travel out to the rigs via helicopter to inspect the facility for up and coming works.
In addition to the above, the scanned information can be converted to a vector model to be utilised in commonsly used 3D engineering drafting packages. Consequently future upgrades and modifications to the facility can accurately be designed, drafted millimeter perfect from the information gathered during the laser survey.
Initially we are targeting the owners and managers of Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODU - see attached pdf documents for explanation and sample photos) i.e. offshore drilling companies.
Hence the name: http://www.rigvisit.com
However it is anticipated that eventually our services wil be expanded to encompass other offshore facilities such as oil & gas fixed platforms, FPSOs (floating production and offtake facilities). So the target audience will expand to include oil companies.
We need a logo that embodies the spirit of these 3D virtual visits to drill rigs.
Please note the main client interface will be through http://www.rigvisit.com , so the website will be the backbone of the service.
ANYTHING will be considered and as we want to encourage creativity. Whilst I don't want to narrow the design parameters too much the key themes are:
- Virtual tours
- Offshore drill rigs
One logo that we found by chance and liked is the ABOAA one (see download). I like the simplicity and imagery of the drill rig and the oil drop. Only a suggestion to get you started, and remember ANYTHING will be considered.
It would be nice but not essential that the logo works both in colour and black and white.
The files we will require are:
- Print file format - .ai (CMYK)
- Web file format - .jpg and layered .psd (RGB)
- Scalable vector format - .eps in colour and black and white.
- Native Illustrator format, so the images/logo can be expandable to any size
