The Worlds Leaders In Backyard Food Production Food Are Gathering...

Food & Drink
Of all the logos we've seen so far, the one with the planet earth and the fork and knife on the sides is the most compelling. It conveys the global good of homegrown food. It implies a bigger overview, which the summit is. The Home Grown Food Summit is a gathering of the worlds best thought leaders and teachers on various topics of backyard food production. Think of the summit like a gathering on the top of a mountain - from this height we can view down in the valley all these amazing experts in growing food. Over there is Sylvia Bernstein showing a group about aquaponics. Over there is John Jeavons showing a group about bio-intensive gardening. Over there is Joel Salatin showing us how to work with kids, so kids will want to work with us for food and farm continuity. Over there is a leader showing you which backyard chickens are best for you flock. Our audience is about 55% female, 45% male. We love simplicity! Mature audience (boomers) More classic than modern More playful than serious HH Income > $90k In a long-term relationship (greater than five years, very stable) College grads Owns a truck Working part-time or full time, but close to retirement We are politically neutral We love color Our network is inclusive of many diet types from vegetarians to paleo, Our biggest value is freedom. The archetype we evoke is that of a journey / adventure / pioneer. Since most of these skills have been lost or forgotten, we are on the journey to re-discover them again! Also, a journey towards health. For many of our audience, the motivation for growing food is primarily because of health; the person recognizes that the commercial food and medicine supply is making them sick. Many of them have had some success in healing themselves by eating clean, safe wholesome foods. Another motivator is fore self-reliance in the case of econcomic collapse, pandemic, etc. A third motivator is for spiritual reasons. Yeah, pretty diverse group there.
