A startup retail store and website that will sell gifts that enhance body and home. We want people to think of us as a place to go to for gifts for themselves or others that exude quality but are fun to shop for, fun to own and rewarding to give. Quality without pretense.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
In general the merchandise will be non-mass produced, affordable, functional high-quality items that will primarily focus on women ages 20 and up, but will include gifts for men, infants, and of course the home. Some examples of the types of things we will be carrying are: Italian leather goods like gloves and wallets, articles made of cashmere like throws for bed and sofas and scarves, jewelry, candles, home scents and one of a kind serving pieces as well as high end art pieces for home decorations. On the other end of the spectrum, we will also carry less expensive whimsical items that would be appropriate for hostess gifts.
Let me start by welcoming everyone to the contest.
A special welcome to the group that has been invited by Curate Gifts (they like your work), and to the others artist I have worked with in the past.
There is one thing I want to remind everyone…
The client (Curate Gift) is putting up the $325 prize (and paying an additional bounty just to run the contest), so what they like is all that matters.
There is so much talent here on 99designs that we know there will be many very talented submissions, so I repeat…It is the design Curate Gifts likes the most (and for any reason) that will win the contest!
You will NEED to CHECK BACK frequently as we will give ALL entries feedback!
This feedback should be absorbed by EVERYONE so you do not duplicate efforts that we do not like.
Feedback may come from two sources and should be taken accordingly.
Feedback from the client (What they like or dislike in general terms of your design)
Feedback from me personally (I have a keen understanding of how to use the development tools, and this will be high level critique… more like creative director if you worked for an agency)
In past contest the winners has also gotten additional work on an "as needed basis" on those particular projects, so for the winner this could lead to additional work (no promises!)
Ok now to some concept, style and design examples…
