Owner and primary photographer of memories by michael photography. 45 year old male shooting primarily $75,000 to $100,000 weddings in southern California. Highly trained in shooting. Have BA. in commercial photography. Been in business for 23 years and never had a logo or any identity. Websites have always been canned templates including the one now up. I'm looking to replace site so only visit the site to see our style of photography, not our look or branding. I would like to see an icon or use of lettering that expresses or hits what I do. See the ones I've rated the highest. Thanks for your time. Everyone is using the same font off my website. I game to see other stuff too. That text was something I pulled out of PS in 30 seconds.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Main target market is 22 to 45 year old women searching online for a wedding photographer. Approx 50% are Asian and most clients are well educated. 2/3's of my competition are now younger women photographers with girly logos and fonts throughout their sites. Not sure if thats what I need but that needs to be considered. I need the logo to work for portrait clients as well. Most of my clients now are finding us online. Men do visit the site usually after their wife or girlfriend found us.
I'm on the less is more camp. There are 3 sites I love the logos on. They use their initials heavily within their logo. I want to start there but am open to anything. I have the M in memories and second M in michael to play off of. I like the fact that neither one of them use the word ' Photography " in their identity but am afraid I need to. See Jessica Claires and Becker's logos in the attached area.
Open to any use of color. The logo needs to work with custom folio imprinting so nothing with too fine of text or detail. We folio stamp our albums and portraits. After 23 years of being in business, I'm starting from scratch. Please no clipart looking icons or wedding-ish looking graphics. If the word " Photography " is easily cropped out so I have both options, that could work too.
