Animal & Pet
My wife and I started a luxurious yet reasonably priced pet travel e-commerce company called Next Level Pet. We sell travel gear for dog & cat owners including dog carriers, toothbrushes, seat covers, etc. Our brand personality is: - Functional - Luxurious - Quality - Affordable - Vintage Inspired Our target audience is both men & women age 20-70 who own & travel with dogs and/or cats. --LOGO MARK DIRECTION-- We're thinking we'd like the mark to be our dog flying a vintage plane. We're imagining Chazz wearing goggles (but maybe not, your call). Chazz doesn't have to be the center of attention. He can just be just a mere detail in the plane or you can work on making the animal more of a character. We want the vibe to be stoic and not too playful. Think a greek statue, but with a subtle quirk. We like the details & style in our examples "Peoples Garment" & "Dreambook Albums". We specifically like the stripey shadows in those designs. Here's a reference of our dog Chazz. There are more pictures of him throughout our profile. https://www.instagram.com/p/BTt0inkA2Vn/ https://nextlevelpet.com/products/the-laika-gray-pet-carrier https://nextlevelpet.com/products/the-laika-dark-brown-pet-carrier This is the detail and the shadow we like. http://imgur.com/a/yBA4S --TYPE-- - custom hand-drawn lettering - classic yet organic - see examples - not to playful --USAGE & PLACEMENT-- - custom script balanced type logo with potential sans serif secondary font for balance - Final logo will be put on our website, physical products(EG: embossed on our bag on a strip of leather like material). --PACKAGE DESIGN-- I will likely be working with the winner on a follow-up package design project in the coming weeks for our toothbrush kit redesign as well as a custom package for our bags and many future product launches.
Other color requirements
Our logo should work in black in white and in color. Please design something with a color scheme of your choice but also show the black & white version. You'll notice in our reference photos we love cream colors, navy blues, and other antique vintage themed schemes.
--LOGO TYPES TO EXPLORE-- - Wordmark - Brandmark - Combination mark ---PLEASE DO--- - make it 100% new and original - make it timeless: It should not follow any ‘trends’ or be fashionable. It should look great if the year is 1950, 2000 or 2050. - let us know If wordmark logo is modified from an existing font by including font name in comments - consider putting something like "EST in California, USA" or "California, USA" or "Designed in USA" or "Designed in California" if it works with your design - be versatile: The logo and mark should work as 3:1 to 2:1 to 1:1. - make it look good on leather goods. Here's an example we love. (https://www.behance.net/gallery/32044395/Siberian-Goods) - know we love most of the logos in this profile: https://dribbble.com/forefathers - know we love this profile as well: --PLEASE DO NOT-- - create an NLP monogram - update our current logo - use stock images or trademarked design files without consent - use ONLY a simple pet industry cliche items as your brandmark (EG: bone, paw, animal silhouette) - be too cutesy. Many pet brands are cute. Ours is not one of them. - be too geometric. (https://www.behance.net/gallery/30868127/Golden-animals) - be too hipster (https://dribbble.com/shots/910659-dopest-clothing-shirt-size) --BONUS POINTS-- - Strong rationale: Prove how your design communicates what our brand is and its personality - Design principles: Prove how your design was carefully designed, cleverly uses negative space, versatile in various applications etc. - create something with both custom calligraphy + an awesome mark
