The logo should emphasize a focus on neighborhoods and partnerships.
You can go with 'Sustainable Communities' or 'Indianapolis Sustainable Communities'. The logo should look contemporary rather than retro or nostalgic. It should work well in tandem with the LISC logo (attached) or as a stand alone logo. It will be used anywhere from banners, to print collateral, to websites, tshirts, you name it.
The sustainable communities cover 5 neighborhoods, (crooked creek, near west indianapolis, near east indianapolis, southeast indianapolis and west indianapolis), but may include more in the future.
WHO: neighborhood stakeholders (businesses, residents, nonprofits, etc.); LISC Indianapolis; other city stakeholders such as City, philanthropy, business community (collaborative endeavor)
WHAT: comprehensive community development (see http://www.lisc.org for more language) targeted to challenged neighborhood with the vision and partnerships necessary for change
WHEN: over the next three years or so
Attached are some logos that we like in style for inspiration. The stylized city grid in a circle could be cool, or something using the Indy Circle and star from the flag. The stylized people working together imagery could be good if simple. Some kind of image signifying urban vitality but not a house would be great.
