Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We sell decorative lighting and electrical products to the hardware and home center channel like Home Depot, Lowe's and Walmart. Items like night lights, light switch covers and under-cabinet lighting. Our products are placed in stores mainly by men who buy hard-core electrical items like building wire and wiring devices so our logo should convey a certain masculinity but with a decorative slant since we are on the décor side making products bought by women. We want our logo to look "fresh" and illustrate we are competent in decorative trends - but also inspire confidence we are a conservative industry leader. Look at other logos from Leviton, Lutron and Intermatic as industry leaders with very boring logos. Look at Berenson, Danze, Delta Faucet, and WAC Lighting for logos I think have some pleasant "design" elements but are still conservative and masculine.

I am hoping to have a conservative but pleasantly distinctive logo other than just a typeface logo as so many companies have in our industry. I am fine with an illustration combined with the logo but do not want it illustrating "lighting" as we have many other non-lighting products so we can't be limited. So no "bulbs" or light waves so to speak. Our company mission statement is "Beautifying homes with affordable, innovative and distinctive products — championed with the highest level of service to delight our customers."
