This design will be used to promote and identify our annual spring semester focus on Civility.
Descriptions that might be helpful:
"Civility is about more than just politeness, although politeness is a necessary first step. It is about disagreeing without disrespect, seeking common ground, listening past one's preconceptions, and teaching others to do the same. Civility is the hard work of staying present even with those with whom we have deep-rooted and fierce disagreements."
"The purpose of Civility Week, which was to provide individuals at ETSU exposure to and understanding of cultures, customs, beliefs and general ways of life that may be different from their own. In addition, the title aims to promote education and awareness emphasizing that diversity should empower justice and peace over conflict, that individual uniqueness should be embraced and celebrated as much as community unity, that diverse perspectives, projects, and actions can get committed, connected, and converged into a common ground of understanding."
