Westtown School is a 275 year old Quaker school in Pennsylvania. we are launching the Westtown Science Institute to position ourselves, in a three year plan, as a leading cutting edge science school nationally, both in summer programming and during the school year. The WSI will feature immersive, constructivist, science experiences for students from K-12. Main market nationally is high school. Integrated, problem-based learning coupled to deep lab work and connections to start-ups and industry professional alike will put kids into the framework of how real science is done with rigor and agility and a focus on creating solutions in the real world. Think aquaponics, forensics, synthetic genomics, biotechnology applications, digital fabrication and robotics. We have a new 14 Million dollar science building, a $100,000 design and engineering lab with advanced digital fabrication tools, and an award winning robotics team.
