Dean's List Jobs is a group of student workers that are looking for odd jobs or gigs to provide supplemental income. Students have many skills to offer. The experience we gain in managing our schedules and customer service parallels the materials we study in our classes and creates what we like to call the "Entrepreneurial Spirit." Dean's List Jobs allows students to translate class learning to real-world operations which helps us develop further as students and future professionals.
The Entrepreneurial Spirit is simply finding unfulfilled needs and having the courage and resiliency to pursue a formal organization. Although we may not be future landscapers, movers, DJ's etc., having the composure to be your own boss and complete your own goals to meet financial needs is an invaluable business trait. We are young, intelligent, and able students that can help you with most any odd job around your home or business.
It is all about who you know these days, and having references to vouch for your work goes miles when dealing with the internet. Thus Dean's List Jobs was formed to provide homeowners with a reference system to judge a student's merits for the gig based on review. Primary Target Market - Educated (went to college) homeowners. More than likely from the middle to upper middle class, largely baby boomers, with a level of empathy for the financial situation of an average college student. These homeowners will be banking on a community of trust to complete simple odd-jobs that do not require the use of professionals. Why use someone random off the internet when you can help out a college student in pursuing their education?
Secondary Market - College students nationwide, essentially generation-Y, who are motivated, willing to work, and have a definitive need for supplemental income for miscellaneous expenses (i.e. books, rent and groceries).
Tertiary Market - Small Businesses (caterers, moving, labor oriented services) with inconsistent workloads and the need for a flexible and capable workforce.
The design should appeal to both a college student and the typical homeowner. Design should include a simple image which can be used with or without the company name. To be clear the final design should include the company with stylized font but the image portion should also be able to stand on it's own.
The design can be fun but must have a level of professionalism which will inspire trust and confidence in the homeowner.
No Cartoons - we want it to be edgy/sharp but not cheap or juvenile.
Graphic files must be vector images which can be scaled as needed.
