We are two American brothers living together in China. Our last name is Hanks. Our brand is Hanks Brothers (HB) because we have big dreams about what we can accomplish together. Our goal is to promote wonderful products we have discovered in China and to find a sustainable way to support our local community. To this end, we are starting up an e-commerce business that sells high quality Chinese goods and donates a portion of the profit to charity. Our first product will be Chinese tea, followed by silk blankets and traditional crafts (e.g. kites and fans). We plan to support our local community by buying only from small businesses instead of Walmart style factories. We will also donate 20% of our profits to Project Hope, a charity that provides life saving heart surgeries for underprivileged Chinese children for only a tenth of what it would cost in America. We have already saved two kids!
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our target audience is American customers who value high quality goods and may have an interest in Chinese culture. We also appeal to socially responsible consumers who care about the impact their consumption has on communities. Our typical customer probably shops at stores like Whole Foods.
We are looking for a classy logo that emphasizes reliability, high quality and social responsibility. We imagine the logo as HB or Hanks Brothers, but are open to other possibilities.
As a China based business some of our potential customers may doubt the quality of our products. Our logo should help to convince them otherwise.
Also, we don't want a product-based logo because we will be selling a variety of products. For example, we do not want a tea leaf in the logo, because then it restricts us from selling other products like silk blankets. However, we are open to a mission-based logo that emphasizes our commitment to life saving heart surgeries for Chinese kids.
