TraditionalEdu.org
Launching a disruptive online education portal called TraditionalEdu.org and need a smart logo to help build a memorable brand!! This portal is unique in that it will be made available exclusively to highly reputable non-profit colleges and universities that offer online course and degree programs. Think schools like Dartmouth, Georgetown, Cal, USC, Villanova, Notre Dame, etc.
We are looking to create an image that reflects the distinction of these schools in a new and fresh way, as they embrace technology to make curriculum more accessible online.
Bill Gates recently remarked that in 5 years, the best education will come from the web. We like to think we are at the cutting edge of this!!
Adult learners who are interested in continuing their education with top-tier academic institutions online. The logo will be important to establish credibility with prospective students, and to gain the confidence of universities that are very protective of their own brands.
Logo should consist of an icon and simple, yet striking typeface.
It should convey intelligence and distinction in a fresh way. Bold and authoritative, but not snobby or pretentious. Also nothing too corporate or futuristic.
A 2-3 color logo is preferred, with ideal primary colors being blue, followed by green and/or gray. Look at yale.edu and 2tor.com to get a sense of what shade of blue it should work with.
An example of a logo that I like is mint.com. One potential idea is to somehow incorporate a leaf in the icon as a veiled reference to the Ivy League. Also open to other ideas!
Also feel free to experiment with either TraditionalEdu.org or TraditionalEDU.org (Edu vs. EDU) for the typeface, depending on what looks best.
Looking forward to some great ideas!!
