We are a painting company in Whistler targeting mid to high wealth (experienced) homeowners, strata managers and contractors in our niche of wood-restoration and high-end home/strata maintenance & renovations.
Sitka Peaks refers to the coastal mountains of British Columbia where the giant Sitka Spruce Trees grow - with the tallest reaching over 300ft in height. A large portion of our time at work is dedicated to preserving these magnificent trees in their final resting places .... the homes that are built on the slopes of the Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. While we are not working, we are either skiing, mountain/trials biking, exploring the backcountry or just getting back to nature and embracing our inner Peter Pans .... we do live in Neverland and none of us lost boys will ever grow up! If you don't believe us after hearing we play in the forest all day, just look what we've chosen to do for work: climb ladders (read: monkey bars) and paint by numbers (read: art class), the two least structured school activities. This tendency towards embracing our inner Peter Pan and getting our daily adrenaline fix, has had us painting in 85ft man-lifts, at the top of 60ft ladders and, while we have guys who are certified to hang out in harnesses dangling on long ropes off the sides of buildings, I even once found myself hanging in a basket from a crane! Whistler, the town we operate out of, is a world class ski & mountain bike destination with international visitors, homeowners and seasonal workers from all over the world. With many of our exterior painting projects having a high labour requirement, combined with this seasonal flux of workers, leads to an additional marketing requirement in that this branding should also be something that appeals to an international mix of job applicants in their 20s and 30s. We would like a generic logo that is simple enough that it can be used for website, social media and business cards. We are also looking at potentially forming a long-term relationship with a designer (or team of designers) for our expanding design needs in the: Short term (business cards, simple website/email, simple vehicle decals); Mid-term (website expanded to include more in depth marketing & pre-qualification of clients, targeted marketing campaigns, internal marketing - ie. logowear, branded patches for staff backpacks, baseball caps, annual baseball team t-shirt design, internal website for employee timekeeping, etc); Long term (similarly themed logos for potential franchises under the Sitka family tree - ie. Sitka Isles Painting if we were to expand to a larger presence on Vancouver island). I have included an image of my favourite artist representation of the Sitka tree (metal sculpture by a canadian artist: Jack Willoughby), an image of the Resort Municipality of Whistler logo and an image of the Whistler Blackcomb's logo - the ski resort around which the town is built. The little sketch is something that keeps popping up as I flip through my notebook, but I'm open to all ideas. I feel that maybe my idea might be "piggy backing" of the Whistler logo a bit much, but then again: "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!" I've included some stock marketing photos (and their respective logos) from the blue Graco paint spraying system I use as well as the green Festool dust extracting sanding systems that we use that are things that separate us from the competition. Most of our battery operated hand tools are dewalt so there is also a bit of yellow in the background. The primary paint suppliers in the area are Sherwin Williams Paints and Benjamin Moore paint, and I've included both their logos. * IMPORTANT, there is a renovations company in town name 'Sitka Whistler Renovations' and he was initially very hostile when it came to my used of the word Sitka in my company name. I have included his logo for reference as any logos bearing any similarity to this WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. * I've also included a bunch of images of me and my staff (present and past) doing various work and leisure activities as well as a few stock images that I have simply downloaded from the internet and may be subject to copyright? Please let me know if you need further information on the source of any of the material and I implore you not to expose me to copyright right by simply copying any of the material and not letting me know. I wish you all the best of luck and look forward to seeing your creativity!
