Stephanie12613 got their new logo design by running a design contest:
The Rising School needs a new logo
Check out Stephanie12613's Logo design contest…
The Rising School is a high-quality college-prep school that prepares Tucson-area students for success in school, college, and 21st century careers. The school initially represents 6th through 12 grades; however, we very likely will be adding Kindergarten through 5th grade. Also in our target audience are parents across the socio-economic spectrum. Given that we have such a broad range of people to appeal to, we feel the design needs to speak more to the elements of modern education than to a particular demographic.
Logo types to explore
Supporting Information Our primary competitors include BASIS Schools, Sonoran Science Academy, and University High. Their websites are as follows: http://www.basisschools.org/index.php http://www.sonoranacademy.org/tucson http://edweb.tusd.k12.az.us/uhs/ Our tagline is "Rising To Achieve Greatness." Attached is our preliminary effort; however, we are not satisfied with its level of sophistication. We were trying to convey the upward, expanding spirit of our tagline -- our mission is to substantially raise the standards for education in our community and empower students to succeed in life. Examples With Links To Web Sites Or Logos (Likes And Dislikes) We wish for our colors to be the same shades of red and blue that are used in the University of Arizona's logo, as our community identifies very closely with the university. There are many examples of school logos online, but the majority of them leave us flat. We don't care for styles that are overly childish; that look like a family crest; or that use imagery unreflective of education. A stack of books with an apple on it in front of a chalkboard has been done to death. We prefer clean, modern design that is clever but not too abstract -- we need our broad audience to identify with it. Since our industry doesn't yield a lot of appealing examples, here are links to sample logos that we do like: http://logofaves.com/2010/01/spartan-golf-club-2/ http://logofaves.com/2012/12/future-footprint/ http://logofaves.com/2012/11/boss-hunting/ http://logofaves.com/2011/05/forestal/ http://logofaves.com/2009/12/water-drop/ Exact Requirements (Required Elements, Formats, Sizes, Etc.) Required elements include the use of the University of Arizona's shades of red and blue. We prefer to receive the logo in Illustrator and a hi-res JPEG. We must be able to size it to fit a wide range of marketing needs (print media, promotional products, and advertising). Payment Details The payment for this logo will be provided within 3 business days of announcing the contest winner.
