How Dining Alliance started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Dining Alliance (aka DA)
What’s your company slogan?
Purchasing with Power - DOES NOT NEED TO BE INCLUDED
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Dining Alliance (DA) is the largest group purchasing organization for independent restaurants, a family owned business leveraging 12 billion of purchasing power on the behalf of restaurateurs and chefs across the country. We have over 15,000 members and negotiate competitive contract pricing with over 100 food/non-food vendors annually.
Our CEO has been on CNBC and Closing Bell. We have been in countless newspaper and magazines representing the restaurant industry as a whole. The approved logo will get media coverage and be our national brand identity.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
This is a 15 year old family-owned company, and the current logo (attached) has a lot of emotional attachment for us. The logo has a B and an A because the original name was "Buying Alliance". We know we need updating, but be aware that keeping some relation to the original logo will make it easier to transition. We're not looking for a dramatic logo/identity change, just move up from our outdated style. Maybe more of a freshening up than a full-blown reinvention.
Our slogan is tentatively "Purchasing with Power" ... we're not looking for a logo with a slogan included, but we're open to it. We often go by "DA", so you may shorten that as part of the logo if you wish.
While we are in the foodservice industry, don't get too hung up on that. You're certainly welcome to tie in food, but we're more on the business end of things.
This has to look good on a apparel in embroidery style - all our employees will wear these.
