Puptale's goal is to be a high-quality brand known as the most visually compelling, entertaining and useful source of dog-related media, entertainment and interactive services globally.
"Puptale" is a play on words Pup+Tale, where "Tale" (a story) is meant to sound like "Tail" (the thing that wags)
The primary feature of Puptale is storytelling - articles written as short stories with pictures, submitted by users, featuring dog(s) that each get their own profile entry. Stories are grouped by theme, such as "Inspirational" for dog heroes, and "Bad Doggie!" for when they don't listen, and "Medical Moments" to share experiences regarding dog health, "Lol! Funny!" for when a story is just hilarious, and "Tips and Advice" for sharing stories about life with dog in general.
On the more informational side, the site will contain a full dog breed guide, a breed selection widget, an "Ask the Veterinarian" section, and probably an online store to sell high-end dog wares. Over time the site will feature the latest interactive features - we aim to be the most technology modern dog-related site on the Internet.
The site is a community hub for dog lovers around the world. Our goal is to reach 1 million subscribers in the first year. It attracts users age 30+, mainly female, with one or more dogs and usually one or more children. Users range from the rural and poor, to the rich and cosmopolitan.
We want the logo to feel "Down to Earth", because dogs are animals, but also "Slightly Sophisticated", because this is a publication to be taken seriously. It should not feel too corporate and cold, but rather natural and warm. It should not feel too childish and silly, but loose and fun is good.
BEST ADVICE: The logo should be inspired by the best elements of a puppy: friendly, trustworthy, cute but strong, approachable, warm, energetic, playful, a little disobedient, happy.
We are inclined towards any idea that captures the element of a wagging tail - in part because it plays on the name Puptale, and also because this image is uniquely dog-like and a symbol of joy and happiness. HOWEVER please don't let that constrain you; use any image or style that inspires you.
