How PioneerLibrarySystem started their logo design journey
Pioneer Library System Foundation
The Pioneer Library System Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit entity, recently incorporated to support the long-term funding needs of the Pioneer Library System (PLS).
Since 1958, PLS has served residents from nine libraries in three Central Oklahoma counties. The library’s services are free to all. The mission of the PLS is: “Connecting you to the joy of reading and to learning for lifelong education.”
The library web address is http://www.pioneer.lib.ok.us/ - the foundation website is not yet developed and the look of it will pull from the foundation logo.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Library customers range in age from babies to seniors. Customers are from urban, suburban, and rural areas across the three counties.
Most donors to the Pioneer Library System Foundation are between the ages of 45-85 years and tend to be users of the library system.
Through branding, the Foundation seeks to convey long-term stability and growth for PLS.
Pioneer Library System Foundation is the legal name. If possible, we’d like a logo that includes the name but provides an option to drop the name off the design at a later date.
The logo for PLS is attached. Contest judges would like to see connectivity between the PLS logo and the one created for the Foundation. Consider incorporating one or more elements in the design of the Foundation logo – color, form or font. The font is Niagra Solid and Myriad Pro, and the colors are PMS 186, 151, and 269.
Because four-color printing is expensive, limiting the number of colors is preferred. We’d like ORIGINAL color art that also translates well into black and white. No stock art elements, please.
The logo will be used in electronic presentations, printing and website.
Final submission are requested as a vector file.
