UPDATED BRIEF!! Sorry everyone for the confusion at the beginning of this contest - we ran into issues with the name Caravel Design which prevented us from using that name, so we are rewriting the brief with the new name and have changed it to a guaranteed prize contest! Please see below:
We are a product design and development company that takes clients from an idea in their head to a product in their hands, and provide services all the way from design conception, high quality renderings, creation of manufacturable files, engineering, in-house prototyping, factory sourcing, and development all the way until you're ready for first run of production. We are not like most other design firms who just do concept images, we are doing hands on machining and prototyping, making real products and testing function! We work out of a warehouse and use CNC machines, lathes, laser engravers and 3D printers and all those kinds of fun things! Our current website is http://www.realized-designs.com and is way too mom and pop. We have run our business for close to 3 years and need a rebrand, but don't want to completely lose our identity that we've built up. We are changing our name to Real in an attempt to attract higher budget clients and be a more professional, grown up company. To give you an idea of our brand style, this is going to be our message for the rebrand:
real...design from manufacturing
real designs, real people, real prices, real experience
in this world of uncertainties people need something real
we started off realizing, we started making...we still do, just better
we learned from our successes, learned more from our mistakes, learned our process, always learning you...
the past was realized
now it's real
We want the word 'real' to be the focus of the name stamp, and realized that we could do something cool with working the 'dfm' (which typically stands for Design For Manufacturing, but in this case will stand for 'Designed From Manufacturing') layering into the word 'real' at the a and the l. This idea will be more clearly shown in the inspiration section below. We are not dead set on this idea, and are open to seeing any other great ideas that you guys might have! I love the use of negative space, and also the idea of using one continuous line in the drawing of the logo.
I'm getting a lot of pretty similar designs based around the 'R' logo that id put in the inspiration and I'd love to know if anyone could do something a little different? I put up another couple of logos in the inspiration, specifically the 'boundary' logo and the 'bond moroch' logo that kind of play on looped letters and softer lines. If anyone could do something that took those logos as inspiration I'd love to see those in this last stretch of the contest :)
